ABOUT
Musician/songwriter, Jonathan Adams has been playing and recording music since he was a teen living in Tallahassee, Florida. In the 80s he was a member of Persian Gulf (click here for more) a proto/pop/punk Florida-based band that toured the eastern seaboard with stops at New York’s Danceteria, Peppermint Lounge, CBGBs and Irving Plaza. Following a move to the Philly and then the Empire State, Adams later played in Echo Eight, a roots-based band and Elbow Room, described by some wiseacre ink-stained scribe as “Country Chamber” music. He also fronted the Aerials (and still does) as songwriter/singer/guitarist all the while keeping up with his home recording projects.
In 1994, Jonathan, wife Kathleen and and young son Henry moved to Atlanta. After a period of not playing out, he had the great pleasure of working with the local R&B legend Richard Marks. He has shared the stage with many gifted musicians through the years. He continues to gig with the Aerials and is a member of Jeff Evans’ rolling collection of mischief and mayhem – “Chickens and Pigs”.
“Jack Plane” is Adams’ new CD. There are 12 tunes, all original material that covers many flavors of music including funk, soul & roll, Rock, Americana and roots. Jonathan Adams’ “Jack Plane” CD release party is November 7 @ 7PM, held at Smith’s Olde Bar – The Atlanta Room. Adams’ music will feature a killer band of some of the area’s top players bringing “Jack Plane” live to the public.
